Talinaceæ is a family consisting of only two genera, Talinella and Talinum, plants that were until recently classified as being members of Portulacaceae. The name adopted, Talinaceæ, is that of a long disused family. Its members now are dwarf shrubs, or, rarely, small caudiciform trees, often with tuberous roots or rootstock. The leaves are mucilaginous.
